Let me begin by saying I’m obsessed with this ballet dancers rainy Charlotte engagement session!!!
I met David Morse and Tina LaForgia while assisting the amazing Jeff Cravotta photographing the ballet dancers of Charlotte Ballet (formerly known as North Carolina Dance Theatre) photography for their website and brochures. I’ve had the privilege to work alongside of Jeff for over nine years now and LOVE him and his work! He does amazing dance photography!
David is now in his sixth season with Charlotte Ballet and was just featured in an article by Charlotte Magazine that you should check out here. This guy is majorly talented not just in dance, but also as a pianist and I’ve seen some beautiful art work as well. (He is designing their invitations for the wedding)
It was at Charlotte Ballet (NC Dance Theatre) where David and Tina met and have been dating for almost 4 years. She danced there for three seasons and recently moved to Cincinnati Ballet. Tina has also been dancing the past two summers with Terpsicorps located in Asheville, NC.
As you can imagine a separation of 7.5 hours means a lot of Skyping for these two, but David made sure he could propose in person. He drove the trip one night and proposed to Tina the next morning over breakfast. Due to their hectic work schedules as ballet dancers we were limited with scheduling their engagement session this fall before the Nutcracker work load started. The date or should I say whole weekend that Tina was in town for their engagement session it was cold and it rained and rained!!! However this is where I get so excited when clients like David and Tina say lets take on the rain for our session and they did it beautifully. The rain never let up as we ventured around Charlotte during their engagement session. They requested for a Charlotte skyline shot, but as you can see in the first image you barely could see the skyline due to the fog. This cold, rainy weather resulted with some super cuddly and romantic images of the engaged couple. We of course had to do some dance shots since it plays a huge role in both of their lives. I’m so excited to be photographing their wedding next May at the Mint Museum off of Randolph Rd. in Charlotte, NC. Be sure to check out the blog in June or July to see their wedding images. 🙂
